INN-PRESSME services to the industry: Upscaling biomaterials and bio-based solutions for packaging and automotive
Friday 26 January 2024 | 10:00-12:15 CET | Brussels and online
The review of the Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive aimed to ensure that “all packaging on the EU market is reusable or recyclable in an economically viable way by 2030”. Responsible consumers and retailers across Europe are needed to achieve these targets set for the circular economy model.
To contribute to these objectives, the INN-PRESSME project is supporting European companies to develop bio-based solutions in the packaging, energy, transport, and consumer goods sectors.
The event presented the benefits of the INN-PRESSME solutions and highlight the regulatory and policy barriers to the wide implementation of the Open innovation Test Bed services and test cases.
The discussion addressed the following questions:
- How bioeconomy innovations can contribute to the implementation of the recycling regulations in practice?
- What are the challenges facing the packaging and automotive industries related to the closed-loop recycling of plastics?
Format: Hybrid event (Silversquare Bailli, Avenue Louise 231, Brussels, and online via Zoom)
Programme: Moderation by Ulla Forsström, Principal Scientist at VTT and INN-PRESSME coordinator.
